Whether you have five minutes to share a post or five hours to knock on doors, there’s a place for you on this team. By signing up, you’ll play an important role in making sure District 2 students and families have the representation they deserve.

  Dear Neighbor,

As a former PGCPS second-grade teacher, education leader, and — most importantly — a proud Prince George's County parent, I believe that our neighborhood schools can and must work for every single child.

I started my career right here in a PGCPS classroom. I am running because I believe in what our local schools can be, and because every child who walks through their doors deserves a world-class education.

Since leaving the classroom, I have spent over a decade championing equity in education from the halls of Congress to DC's state education agency — designing teacher preparation programs, managing budgets, shaping policy, and building systems that work for every child. I am not coming to this race with theories. I am coming with real experience, real relationships, and an unwavering commitment to the families of District 2.

When I talk to neighbors and friends I hear the same things over and over. Families want to feel genuinely excited and confident about their neighborhood school. They want classrooms with great teachers who know their children, stay all year, and are prepared to teach every kind of learner well. They want schools where kids feel safe and emotionally supported. They want a system that responds to every student's unique needs — whether a child needs extra support to reach grade level or is ready to be pushed further. And they don’t want to feel like they have to fight to make sure their child gets what they deserve. The urgency to make these hopes a reality is serious for me — and it is personal.

As your District 2 board member , I will focus on:

Recruiting & retaining great teachers.

Every classroom in PGCPS must be led by well-prepared teachers who can grow and develop their careers right here in the district.

I will champion programs that grow educators from within our own community and fight for compensation that is competitive with neighboring districts so that talented teachers choose PGCPS and stay.

I will also push for meaningful professional development and leadership opportunities that give educators a reason to build their entire career here.

Making sure every student is challenged & supported.

Every student in PGCPS must make meaningful academic gains and be prepared to chase their wildest dreams. This means fighting for adequate funding, staffing, and resources to meet students where they are.

I will ensure students with disabilities and multilingual learners receive the equitable resources they need to succeed, while paying close attention to accelerated learning opportunities for students who are ready for more.

I will also urgently emphasize the importance of addressing academic outcomes for students in middle and high school.

Putting health, safety, & well-being at the center.

Every school in PGCPS must be a place where every child feels physically safe, emotionally supported, and genuinely connected — because belonging is not a bonus; it is the foundation of learning.

I will elevate student, family, and community voices to address student safety, social and emotional learning, and other school climate related concerns.

I will also continuously celebrate the cultural tapestry of the district’s students and families, and support policies that honor the legacies, perseverance, and dedication of our local communities to bolster an inclusive education for all.

If you believe every child in PGCPS deserves a school that works for them, I am asking for your vote.
